Locality Preserving Matching

چکیده
Seeking reliable correspondences between two feature sets is a fundamental and important task in computer vision. This paper attempts to remove mismatches from given putative image feature correspondences. To achieve the goal, an efficient approach, termed as locality preserving matching (LPM), is designed, the principle of which is to maintain the local neighborhood structures of those potential true matches. We formulate the problem into a mathematical model, and derive a closedform solution with linearithmic time and linear space complexities. More specifically, our method can accomplish the mismatch removal from thousands of putative correspondences in only a few milliseconds. Experiments on various real image pairs for general feature matching, as well as for visual homing and image retrieval demonstrate the generality of our method for handling different types of image deformations, and it is more than two orders of magnitude faster than state-of-the-art methods in the same range of or better accuracy.

This document describes our submission to QBSH task of MIREX 2013. Our algorithm adopts a two-stage cascaded solution based on Locality Sensitive Hashing (LSH) and accurate matching of frame-level pitch sequence. Firstly, LSH is employed to quickly filter out songs with low matching possibilities, resulting in a list of candidate songs for further processing. In the second stage, Dynamic Time W...

Biometrics is defined as identifying people by their physiological characteristic, such as iris pattern, fingerprint, and face, or by some aspects of their behavior, such as voice, signature, and gesture. Considerable attention has been drawn on these issues during the last several decades. And many biometric systems for commercial applications have been successfully developed. Recently, the ve...
متن کاملPrivacy Preserving Probabilistic Record Linkage Using Locality Sensitive Hashes
As part of increased efforts to provide precision medicine to patients, large clinical research networks (CRNs) are building regional and national collections of electronic health records (EHRs) and patientreported outcomes (PROs). To protect patient privacy, each data contributor to the CRN (for example, a health-care provider) uses anonymizing and encryption technology before publishing the d...
متن کاملCapturing Topology in Graph Pattern Matching
Graph pattern matching is often defined in terms of subgraph isomorphism, an np-complete problem. To lower its complexity, various extensions of graph simulation have been considered instead. These extensions allow pattern matching to be conducted in cubic-time. However, they fall short of capturing the topology of data graphs, i.e., graphs may have a structure drastically different from patter...
متن کاملSpectral LPM: An Optimal Locality-Preserving Mapping using the Spectral (not Fractal) Order
For the past two decades, fractals (e.g., the Hilbert and Peano space-filling curves) have been considered the natural method for providing a locality-preserving mapping. The idea behind a locality-preserving mapping is to map points that are nearby in the multi-dimensional space into points that are nearby in the one-dimensional space. In this paper, we argue against the use of fractals in loc...
